Preparation of Zonal Development Plan (ZDP) for Patna Metropolitan Area for Group III

The objectives of the project are preparation of ZDP in the framework of the Master Plan which focuses upon the following key concepts, Creation of a compact city to achieve sustainable development, Integration of peripheral areas with the core and immediate areas through creation of Growth Centres and Satellite Towns with good connectivity, Protecting rural livelihoods and catering to the needs of the people by providing agricultural zones,Adequate Infrastructure for overall development, Develop ZDP as link between Master Plan and Local Area Plan.

Key Tasks Achieved

• Preparation of base map by demarcation of the planning boundary,
• Data collection and review of the existing policy, strategy and plan on economic development, PPP framework, environmental conservation strategy etc.
• Demographic data review and assessment (population distribution, pop. Growth rate, population density, work force participation, cultural and religious beliefs, settlement types etc.)
• Preparation of Land use/ land cover map, land suitability analysis, identification of disaster-prone areas etc.
• Preparation of transportation system, development of hierarchy of the road, traffic flow analysis, freight corridor facility analysis etc.
• Assessment of physical infrastructure facilities (sewer, drainage, sewerage, solid waste and water supply) and social infrastructure facility (forest and recreational spaces).
• Preparation of the implementation strategy for the Zonal Development Plan.
