Last October 16th, within the confines of the Ministry of Construction (MOC), Spatial Decisions (SD) and the Institute for Construction and Urban Economics (ICUE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to work together. This new partnership serves to be a vehicle to explore opportunities and undertake cooperation activities in the fields of Planning, Urban Planning, Urban Heritage Planning and GIS Solutions and Smart City Infrastructure Development in Vietnam. The event was attended by delegates from MOC, ICUE, SD, and the Indian Embassy.
About Spatial Decisions (SD)
Spatial Decisions (SD) is a firm of Planners, Environmentalists and Information Solutions Specialists providing consulting services to public, private, and international clients. Founded in 1999 in New Delhi, India, as a result of international experience and diversification in domain of expertise of Prem Chaudhery & Associates (PCA), an urban planning and architectural design company, Spatial Decisions expanded its operations to establish Spatial Decisions Vietnam in 2008. As a multi-faceted team, SD work on planning projects, address and integrate environmental considerations, and apply information technologies like Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to address multi-sectoral projects. Earlier this year, SD established its representative office in Kathmandu, Nepal.
About Institute for Construction and Urban Economics (ICUE)
Established in 2013 with Dr. Pham Sy Liem – former Deputy Minister of Ministry of Construction as Director. On March 2018, Dr. Nguyen Hong Hanh, former Deputy Director of Urban Development Agency (UDA) under Ministry of Construction, was assigned to be the new Director. Led by the former senior leaders of Ministry of Construction, together with a team of young and enthusiastic experts, experienced senior experts with thorough understanding of multi-faceted fields, ICUE has established its position in the fields with regard to its functions and responsibilities assigned by Viet Nam Federation of Civil Engineering Association (VFCEA), gaining the confidence of Ministry of Construction, Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA) and other cities, provinces throughout the country.
ICUE is a science and technology organization of construction economics and urban development. Since its establishment, it has carried out scientific projects assigned by MOC and VUSTA. ICUE provides consultancy services in regional planning, urban planning, plans, urban development plans, construction cost management projects, establishing of cost norms and unit prices, houses and real estate, construction investment consultancy, etc. They also provide consultancy services for training in economics, planning, urban development management, these are among state management fields under MOC’s authorities; cooperates in training, scientific research and international cooperation in the fields of Construction Economics and urban development planning.
