The plan aims to guide the spatial, socio-cultural, economic, and environmental development of Namchi, aligning with the state’s policies and the national vision of Viksit Bharat@2047. The process includes creating a robust database through surveys and ground verification, analyzing existing conditions and development gaps, and conducting extensive stakeholder consultations to shape a shared vision and growth strategy. Building on these foundations, the Draft Master Plan will be prepared and refined through workshops, handholding sessions, and inter-agency discussions, before submission for final approval. Ultimately, the Namchi Master Plan will provide a strategic roadmap for inclusive, balanced, and sustainable urban transformation, positioning the city as a model of planned growth in Sikkim.

The project focuses on formulating a comprehensive GIS-based Master Plan for the Namchi Planning Area in line with the Sikkim Allotment of House Sites and Construction of Building (Regulation and Control) Act, 1985 and other applicable legislations.
