Representatives from Spatial Decisions attended the “Viet Nam Energy Partnership Group (VEPG) 3rd High-Level Meeting (HLM) and 1st Stakeholder Forum discussion on Sustainable Renewable Energy future of Viet Nam” on 10th Dec 2019 at Melia Hotel, Hanoi. The event was organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT), the World Bank, and the Delegation of the European Union to Viet Nam.
The event brought together high-level representatives from the Government of Viet Nam, Development Partners, as well as from the Private Sector, Research, and Non-Government Organisations. The HLM provided a platform to present the progress made on the Forty (40) adopted Policy Recommendations of the VEPG in the areas of Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency, Energy Sector Reform, Access to Energy, and Energy Data & Statistics.
The 1st Stakeholder Forum featured interactive sessions for experts to exchange and debate current hot topics within Viet Nam’s energy sector. Viable national and international best practices and examples for Energy Sector Planning, Energy Efficiency, and Distributed Renewable Energy were presented, followed by lively exchanges and debate. In conclusion, it was emphasized that wind and solar energy are the key driving sources in sustainable renewable energy for Vietnam.
