The GIS mapping tool developed under the MOMENTUM Routine Transformation and Equity (MRITE) GIS Mapping project plays a crucial role in Routine Urban Immunization. The tool leverages spatial data to visualize all government health facilities in an urban area/city and assess their coverage. By mapping health facility coverage relative to population density, the tool enables health authorities to locate areas lacking adequate healthcare access and those with surplus resources. Moreover, it facilitates geo-spatial analysis to assess whether immunization targets set for each health facility in urban areas are being met. This capability empowers officials to make data-driven decisions, optimize resource allocation, and ensure equitable distribution of healthcare services, thereby enhancing overall healthcare delivery and community health outcomes.
Features
The tool has four main components – Masters, Dashboard, Map Indicator and HMIS MPR. All these
components have different functionality. The detail of each component is elaborated below:
The coverage area of any urban facility within the listed cities can be viewed in the Dashboard.
Further, the ANM areas demarcation, working within the facility.
Mapping all sessions with pointer informatation like Name and type (fixed/outreach) of session, conducted which day of the week, ASHA, AVD, contact details, etc
